Carbide Burrs

Carbide rotary burrs for deburring, weld removal, edge preparation, contouring, and surface finishing. Available in multiple head shapes, cut types, and metric or inch shank sizes for machining steel, stainless steel, cast iron, aluminum, and other metals.

Carbide Rotary Burrs for Metalworking

Persistools carbide rotary burrs are precision cutting tools designed for fast material removal, deburring, weld cleaning, edge preparation, contouring, and surface finishing.

The cutting heads are manufactured from solid tungsten carbide and are suitable for use with die grinders, pneumatic grinders, electric rotary tools, and other high-speed hand-held or CNC equipment.

Compared with conventional abrasive tools, carbide burrs remove material through defined cutting edges, providing efficient stock removal, better dimensional control, and long service life when used under suitable cutting conditions.

A wide range of head shapes, cut geometries, head diameters, and shank sizes is available to match different materials and machining requirements.

Multiple Cut Types

Different flute designs can be selected according to the workpiece material and required cutting behavior.

Single Cut
Provides controlled material removal and relatively smooth cutting. Commonly used for steel, cast iron, and general-purpose metalworking.

Double Cut
Creates smaller chips and provides faster stock removal with easier tool control. Suitable for deburring, weld removal, and general metal fabrication.

Aluminum Cut / Non-Ferrous Cut
Features wider flute spacing to improve chip evacuation and reduce loading when machining aluminum, copper, brass, plastics, and other non-ferrous materials.

Multiple Head Shapes

Carbide burrs are available in common shapes including:

  • Cylindrical
  • Cylindrical with end cut
  • Ball nose cylindrical
  • Ball
  • Oval
  • Tree with radius end
  • Tree with pointed end
  • Flame
  • Cone
  • Tapered radius

Different shapes allow the cutter to reach flat surfaces, curved profiles, narrow grooves, internal corners, chamfers, and difficult-to-access areas.

Typical Applications

Persistools carbide burrs are commonly used for:

  • Deburring machined components
  • Weld bead removal
  • Edge preparation
  • Grinding and shaping
  • Die and mold finishing
  • Porting and contour work
  • Casting cleanup
  • Surface blending
  • Chamfering
  • General metal repair and fabrication

Rotate the file to clean the edges and corners of the workpiece.

Available metric and inch shank options make the burrs suitable for different markets, machines, and tool-holding systems.

Custom head shapes, flute geometries, carbide grades, dimensions, and packaging can also be supplied according to specific application requirements.

What are carbide rotary burrs used for?
Carbide rotary burrs are used for deburring, weld removal, grinding, contouring, edge preparation, chamfering, and surface finishing. They are widely used in metal fabrication, casting, mold making, automotive repair, and general machining applications.
Single cut burrs provide more controlled cutting and relatively smooth material removal. Double cut burrs produce smaller chips and generally offer faster stock removal with easier handling, making them popular for general deburring and weld removal.
For aluminum and other non-ferrous materials, an aluminum cut or non-ferrous cut burr is recommended. The wider flute spacing improves chip evacuation and helps reduce material loading on the cutting edges.
Common shank sizes include 3 mm, 6 mm, 1/8″, and 1/4″. Different head diameters, head shapes, flute geometries, and custom dimensions can also be supplied according to machine and application requirements.
