Tungsten Carbide Strip Blanks

Precision ground tungsten carbide strip blanks for planer knives, TCT brazed cutting tools, and custom carbide blades. Available in various widths and thicknesses from 1 mm to 30 mm, with lengths up to 1200 mm. Supplied for further cutting, grinding, brazing, and custom tool manufacturing.

Precision Ground Tungsten Carbide Strip Blanks

Persistools tungsten carbide strip blanks are designed as semi-finished materials for manufacturers of woodworking knives, brazed cutting tools, industrial blades, and other custom carbide tooling.

The carbide strips can be supplied with precision-ground surfaces, providing controlled thickness, width, flatness, and straightness for further processing. Depending on strip dimensions and application requirements, flatness, straightness, and dimensional accuracy can typically be controlled within 0.1 mm or according to customer specifications.

Widths and thicknesses are available in a broad range from approximately 1 mm to 30 mm, while strip lengths can be produced up to 1200 mm.

These long carbide blanks allow customers to cut the material into required lengths and then perform additional grinding, edge preparation, angle machining, or brazing according to the final tool design.

Typical applications include:

  • Woodworking planer knives
  • Carbide-tipped planer blades
  • TCT brazed cutting tools
  • Industrial cutting blades
  • Scraper and wear-resistant edges
  • Custom-shaped carbide inserts
  • Special-purpose cutting tools

For manufacturers producing different blade lengths, cutting angles, or non-standard tool geometries, long carbide strip blanks provide greater flexibility than purchasing finished carbide components in fixed dimensions.

Different carbide grades, dimensions, surface conditions, and grinding tolerances can be supplied according to the final application.

What are tungsten carbide strip blanks commonly used for?
Tungsten carbide strip blanks are commonly used for manufacturing woodworking planer knives, TCT brazed tools, industrial blades, wear-resistant edges, and other custom carbide cutting components. Customers can cut and further grind the strips according to their own tool designs.
Carbide strips can be supplied in various lengths, with long strips available up to approximately 1200 mm. The achievable dimensional tolerance and straightness depend on the strip thickness, width, length, and specific application requirements.
Yes. These strips are supplied as semi-finished carbide blanks and are suitable for further cutting, grinding, edge preparation, and brazing. This allows customers to manufacture different blade lengths and cutting geometries from the same carbide blank.
Yes. Thickness, width, length, carbide grade, surface condition, and dimensional tolerances can be adjusted according to the final tool or application. Customers can provide a drawing or required dimensions for custom production.
